About GNetAbout The Great NetworkHold Strong The Bond of Nederland. Founded in 1995, the Great Network (GNet) began as an Internet platform for former Rotary Exchange Students based in Holland from 1994 to 1995 to maintain post-exchange relationships with cohorts from different countries. For several years, GNet members eagerly engaged in group and individual email correspondence - as well as telephone calls and personal visits. But in recent memory, the GNet collective has been relatively inactive, aside from fragments in North America, Australia and perhaps elsewhere.
Thankfully, that changed in early 2004. In a watershed moment sparked
by alcohol-induced
nostalgia and uncharacteristic motivation, GNetters Eric J. Reid and
Mark Sitter decided to develop a GNet Website and
The VisionTo reconnect and further develop the bonds of both intense and superficial friendship originally forged in Holland in the mid-nineties among an international community of Rotary Exchange Students who collectively form "The Great Network."
The Great Network Mission StatementTo provide a living repository of contact information, life updates and growing services to serve a community born out of the Rotary Exchange Student experience in Holland 1994 and 1995.
