was so great to hear from you Eric! What a neat idea to have a reunion.
I can’t believe that 10 years ago we were all living in Holland!
After arriving back home in Toronto Canada, I still had one more year of high school to finish. While I completed that year, I took a Dutch course every Saturday to keep up my Dutch and interestingly enough….Victoria Park (fellow exchangee) took the class, too!
I then went to Queen’s University in Kingston Ontario for 5 years (1996-2001) where I became a teacher!! I love teaching and I’m now in my 4th year, currently teaching grade 2.
I got married in August of 2002 to Chris Bennett and we moved into our first house about 6 months ago! To complete the house, we got a puppy (Katie) and a kitten (Chloe).
I have not yet returned to Holland, but I have seen some of my host families as they have come to Canada to visit. I have unfortunately lost touch with most Rotary exchangees, but did keep in touch with Victoria Park and Amanda Woods for several years. More recently I bumped into Erin Atkinson about a year ago while she was completing a teaching practicum at the school I was teaching at!
