Josie Costley [Hulme]

I still had one year of High School to endure before moving on to bigger and better things. Upon graduating, it turned out that "bigger and better" meant "The Few, the Proud" and so I found myself in the Corps. Unfortunately--or fortunately, as the case may be--I was injured in boot camp and was medically discharged after only serving for one and half years. However, I did have a wonderful experience, had great fun, learned Arabic, and met my husband. With the military, we lived in Monterey, California, San Angelo, Texas, and Augusta, Georgia. When my husband, Dave, was discharged, we moved back to the Mountain West and now live in North Ogden, Utah.

I have three beautiful children: Meg, age 5; Justin, age 4; and Emma, age 2. We own a little farm house - in the middle of the city - and half an acre of land. We're surrounded by open fields and horses, and about ten minutes away, the ever present, always crowded, never fun Wal*Mart. A little of both worlds. I get to stay home with my kids. I also teach piano and vocal lessons. It's a great life and I'm happy.

Favorite expression in Dutch:

"I was awful at this language. The weird thing is, bizarre words keep popping up in the middle of my conversation and I have to stop and figure out wether I'm speaking Dutch, Arabic or something entirely different. For being such a terrible conversationalist it sure happens often."
